About Voices of NCDI Poverty

Voices of NCDI Poverty is a platform that shares stories and experiences of people living with NCDs and injuries in settings of extreme poverty. It is a joint project of the NCDI Poverty Network, the PEN-Plus Partnership, and Partners In Health.

These narratives demonstrate the vast inequity in access to treatment, care, and social support for severe NCDIs that results in over half a million avoidable deaths each year among the world’s poorest and most vulnerable people. Their stories are multifaceted and address the challenges of both poverty and living with severe chronic disease. The perspectives of family members, caregivers, and health care workers are an important part of many of these narratives.

Voices of NCDI Poverty also aims to empower people living with NCDIs from lower-income countries to have a larger voice in regional and global dialogues around NCDs and injuries.
